Thomas Steger
April 13, 2000

On April 10th, 1987 I came to see Dr. Hoeller because I had a head on collision that resulted in discomfort in my lower back around my belt level. The discomfort was like a tightened “swollen ball” on one side of my back that made it uncomfortable to sit or stand for long periods of times. After listening to my story, Dr. Hoeller completed an exam and x-rays to see if my spine was out of alignment. The next day, Dr. Hoeller adjusted my neck with the NUCCA method and re-x-rayed to be sure the job was complete. I returned on April 13th and told Dr. Hoeller that there was a definate improvement in back. The most remarkable thing about my story is the improved performance in bowling. I take bowling very serious. I have even competed at the professional level in the master’s tournaments. In 1987, I was bowling a 180 average but after my injury I couldn’t hold the ball at all. I felt like a “Quasimodo” with a tightening between my shoulders. My arm would go numb, but not to the point of tingling, when I tried to grasp a pencil. A pencil is a lot lighter than a 16-pound bowling ball so things were serious. I couldn’t bowl at all.

On April 7th, 2000 I came to see Dr. Hoeller after getting into another head on auto wreck. I had shoulder pain, headaches, neck pain and a similar low back tightness. This time the “swollen ball” feeling was on both sides of my back. I have a very high tolerance for pain but I was noticing a decreased bowling performance. Before this accident, I held a 200 average in my bowling tournaments. In the 4 weeks after the accident I went down to a 150 average score. This was not good enough since I was in the top 25% of master professional bowlers. I believe that when you don’t walk straight that you can’t throw straight resulting in your inability to hit the mark. Once again, Dr. Hoeller adjusted me with her gentle procedure and I immediately saw tremendous improvements. I now average 213 on my bowling tournaments. This Saturday, I am going to a local tournament and next week I am competing out of state. I realize now that the value of this type of work is not getting adjusted but by staying in alignment. I want to thank Dr. Hoeller for allowing me the chance to perform at my maximum.

"As a grocery store clerk, my job requires a great deal of lifting and a capacity for dealing with an enormous amount of stress, both mental and physical. Before I started seeing Dr. Johanna Hoeller, my neck was constantly tense and I was experiencing many symptoms, which included tightness of the jaw, carpel tunnel, knee pain and occasional back pain. I have been under Dr. Hoeller's care for four years and have been symptom free as long as I maintain my alignment. I have noticed a sense of well being and stability that I remember having as a small child. I find Dr. Hoeller and her staff very concerned and I have learned much about "well being" from the little hints that have been passed along."

"I must say that being a geologist, I was most skeptical of subjecting myself to a procedure so foreign from what I perceived as conventional logic. Having now been treated for severe lower back pain with impact to the sciatic nerve, I see that the procedure has a scientific basis as well as a unique gift that Dr. Hoeller brings to her profession. Today, I walk straight with no pain. I am an active water- skier, hiker and participant in a host of activities that I would have not thought possible for my fifty years."

"I have been a chiropractic patient for the last 13 to 14 years following a severe fall. My initial experience with chiropractic was to be treated three times a week and I was not able to hold my alignment for any length of time, in fact I was dependent on the treatment so much that I was afraid to travel. A few years ago, when I began treatment with Dr. Hoeller, I was very surprised that after only one adjustment it held and she said to check back for a follow-up visit in one month. I was nervous at first because I thought it was too good to be true. She was right, my visits are never more than once a month and they work! I am an active individual and before Dr. Hoeller's treatment I would easily go out of alignment. Now my quality of life has greatly improved and I have no fear of traveling because I can trust my body to be strong through life's activities!"
